   Congenital Scoliosis>>Case 1

Zhang** was a 18-year-old patient of congenital scoliosis and congenital heart disease (tetralogy of Fallot). The patient underwent a operation because of congenital heart disease in our hospital in 1996. Six years later (in 2002), the patient underwent the posterior orthopaedics fusion with pedicle screw fixation using the Chinese Great Wall system. The Cobb measuring was 70˚before the operation and was 15˚postoperation. The scoliosis rectification rate was 79%. The effect of the operation to rectify the deformity was satisfied. The shoulders were at the same level and the body and the upper limb were symmetric. Three years later after the surgery, the patient developed well and the effect of the operation was still good enough without variation .
